GIS Geographical Information SystemsMapInfo . Intergraph . Unisys - International Experience |
|
| Our years of
personal experience in the dynamic field of GIS have
gained us international recognition by GIS software
vendors and GIS end-users as leading consultants in the
business. Having previosuly worked for several major
vendors prior to the formation of netcarve, we are in the
ideal position to assist clients with GIS solutions, be
it MapInfo, Intergraph, or ESRI.
From specification to design to implementation; netcarve is the only independent GIS consultancy in Switzerland, whose consultants have such a vast range of experience of different GIS projects. We also publish, so watch our for our article in the May 1998 version of GIS Europe where we present the case for High return on Investment from large datasets. Our consultants have experience with Swiss & international organizations including; MapInfo Deutschland and UK, Bureaux de Cadastre Geneva (CH), Ville de Fribourg (CH), ENSA Neuchatel, Canton Vaud Bureaux de Cadastre (CH), Neuchatel Bureaux de Cadastre (CH), Novasys SA (CH), Midlands Electricity (UK), South West Water (UK), British Telecom (UK), Southern Electric (UK). One of our first clients
was MapInfo, who required GIS specialists to help with
customer solutions. We worked with MapInfo providing
consultancy, software solutions, prototyping and
training. Novasys SA of Lausanne, Berne and Geneva have
also called upon our specialist to design and implement
innovative GIS solutions for some of their key clients. |

How to achieve a High ROI Return of Investment from your data |
|
| The focus of
many GIS users in the beginning is data capture, the cost
is immense, and the process often takes longer than
initially expected. During the capture process however
and following completion, every user wants to know how
they can plough back some of the time and expense that
they spent. GIS offers data-management, data-reporting,
data-updates, data-output (graphical and non-graphical)
and so on. It is a known fact however that payback from
GIS does take time. Using GIS tools alone does also not
allow you to explore the high-value data
hidden in your data-sets. This is where the Artificial
Intelligence AI technologies such as data-mining can help. Used with GIS data and
tools, interactive data-mining can identify important
patterns and rules from data within days or weeks. The
discovered knowledge can then be applied to the business
situation as appropriate. We work closely with MapInfo, and are currently developing a link between MapInfo desktop mapping tools and the Clementine data-mining tool. Clementine has also recently announced a link with the leading statistics package SPSS. Our article, to appear in
GIS Europe May 1998, is an extract from our white paper
"Does GIS Discover Knowledge?", where we have
exposed the benefits of merging desktop mapping tools
such as MapInfo with commercial interactive data-mining
tools such as Clementine™ from ISL UK. For more
information about how to profit from your data, after
having spent many years collecting it, you can down load
our white paper from this website. The paper should be an
eye-opener for GIS users and data-mining users alike. |
